2023 Christmas in Riverton

Join the Riverton Merchants & Vendors for an Old-fashioned Christmas Celebration!

December 1st through December 2nd

Friday Events – 5pm - 9pm

  • Candlelit Walk Through Town & Tree Lighting - 6:15pm next to Orchard Hill Bakery.
  • Royal Coachman Tavern - serving burgers, pizza and more. Open until 10 pm; reservations required.
  • Holiday Shopping 5–9pm: Gifts & more at the Village Gift Shoppe, Riverton General Store, Greenwood Glass Blowing Studio, Riverton Grange Hall, Orchard Hill Baking, Old Riverton Inn, Vendors at the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department and Riverton Self Storage. (Vendors have requested CASH ONLY).
  • Festival of Trees 5–9pm at the Riverton Grange Hall: Cast your vote for the best tree with a non-perishable food item or small donation for the Community Food Bank. Purchase raffle tickets and possibly take home your favorite tree. To benefit the Community Food Bank.
  • Wine Tasting Tour 6pm–8pm, provided by Ledgebrook Spirit Shop. Sponsored by the Barkhamsted Historical Society. Adults over 21. Advance tickets on sale at the Riverton General Store and Royal Coachman Tavern/Old Riverton Inn during regular business hours. Tickets also available at the door at the Grange Hall December 1st at 5:30pm. $30 CASH ONLY. Pick up glasses at the Grange, or purchase them there that night.
  • A Christmas Carol by the Riverton Theatre at 8 pm at the Riverton Congregational Church.
  • Bonfires behind the Riverton Volunteer Fire Dept. and at the Riverton General Store.
  • Roaming Christmas Carolers.

Saturday Events – 10am - 7pm

  • Holiday Shopping 10am–7pm: Gifts & more at the Village Gift Shoppe, Riverton General Store, Greenwood Glass Blowing Studio, Riverton Grange Hall, Orchard Hill Baking, Old Riverton Inn, Vendors at the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department and Riverton Self Storage. (Vendors have requested CASH ONLY).
  • Philomena's Fried Dough 10am–4pm at the Riverton Volunteer Fire Dept.‍
  • Festival of Trees 10am–4pm at the Riverton Grange Hall.
  • Clifford the Big Red Dog 10am–12pm.
  • Cookie Decorating 11am–1pm at the Riverton General Store.
  • Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides 11am-2pm at the Riverton Fairgrounds (donations accepted).
  • Mr. & Mrs. Claus and their Elves 12pm–3pm at the Old Riverton Inn. Pictures with Santa.‍
  • Norbrook Brewery 12pm-3pm at Orchard Hill Baking.
  • Magician Strolling the Village.
  • Magic Show 1pm–2pm at the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department.
  • Children’s Craft Workshop 1pm–3pm at the Old Riverton Inn. Make small gifts or ornaments with Recreation Department members. $5.00 fee. Crafts, cookies and cocoa provided!‍
  • Festival of Trees Raffle at 4pm.
  • Roaming Christmas Carolers.
  • Riverton Theatre presents - A Christmas Carol - Tickets on Sale Now! Adults $15 - Seniors $12 - Children $10. Tickets can be purchased at Aerie Mountain Forest - Rte 44, Barkhamsted, CT or please call 860-469-2100

Dinner Reservations are required at the Old Riverton Inn - Royal Coachman Tavern.
