Join the Riverton Merchants & Vendors for an Old-fashioned Christmas Celebration!

December 5th through December 7th

Friday Events – 5pm - 10pm

Caroling and Tree Lighting 6:30 Town Christmas Tree.

FOOD:

  • Riverton General Store - open 5–8 pm, serving chili or New England clam chowder in a bread bowl.
  • Orchard Hill Baking - open 11–8 pm with fresh breads, cookies, brownies, and other assorted baked goods.
  • Old Riverton Inn - serving burgers, pizza and more. Open until 10 pm; reservations highly recommended.

Holiday Shopping 5–9 pm:

  • Gifts & more at Shops at Riverton (open 10-9)
  • Riverton General Store
  • Greenwood Glass Blowing Studio
  • Riverton Grange Hall
  • Orchard Hill Baking
  • Old Riverton Inn

Norbrook Brewery, 6–8 pm in the parking lot near Orchard Hill Baking.

Festival of Trees 5–8:30 pm at the Riverton Grange Hall

  • Bring in non-perishable food items or cash donations to support Pleasant Valley Community Food Pantry while you view trees decorated by community members and organizations.

Free popcorn provided by the Riverton Lions Club

Wine Tasting provided by Ledgebrook Spirit Shop,  6–8 pm. A portion of the proceeds will be gifted to the Barkhamsted Forks Senior Center. Adults over 21. Advance tickets on sale at Rivertontheatre2025.square.site. Pick up glasses at the Grange, or purchase them there that night at 6 (cash only in person). Limited number of tickets available for the wine tasting tour.

Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” by the Riverton Theatre at 8pm at the Riverton Congregational Church. Advance tickets on sale at Rivertontheatre2025.square.site.

Wagon Rides 5–9 pm at the Center Parking Lot. Come take a ride through Riverton’s Winter Wonderland.

Face Painting with the Aura of Beauty 9:30 am–11:30 am Riverton Volunteer Fire Dept.

Children’s Craft with Hawks Creative Co. 9:30 am–11:30 am Riverton Volunteer Fire Dept.

Fried Dough 10 am–4 pm at the Riverton General Store courtyard.

Festival of Trees, 10 am–4 pm at the Riverton Grange Hall.

Tree Drawing at 4 pm. Free popcorn provided by the Riverton Lions Club

Baby Goats 10 am–4 pm, Shops at Riverton

Roving Christmas Carolers.‍

Children’s Craft Workshop, 2-4 pm at the Riverton Vol. Fire Dept. Make small gifts or ornaments with the Recreation Department. $5.00fee. Crafts, cookies and cocoa provided!

Chainsaw Demo with Wood you Believe it 10 am–4 pm, Shops at Riverton

Strolling Magician Through the Village 12–1 pm

Magic Show 1–2 pm at the Riverton Volunteer Fire Dept.

Wagon Rides 10 am–4 pm at the Center Parking Lot. Come take a ride through Riverton’s Winter Wonderland.

Mr. & Mrs. Claus and their Elves, 11–2 pm at the Old Riverton Inn. Pictures with Santa.
