6 AM to 10 AM in Riverton, CT
The 76th Annual Riverton Fishing Derby will take place on Saturday, April 11th along the West Branch of the Farmington River. The day begins with a traditional pancake breakfast at 4:00 AM at the Riverton Fire Department, followed by the start of the derby at 6:00 AM. Youth and adult participants can look forward to a variety of exciting prizes, which will be awarded and announced after the event concludes at 10:00 AM.
This historic fishing derby has been running since 1949 with generations of families enjoying this tradition year after year. To be able to sustain this derby into the future the ability to engage our young fisherman and fisherwomen is key. The ten and under section is held at Zak’s Pool just upstream from the Town Bridge.
